Welcome to the Shed...

So hello stranger... By some quirk of fate you have discovered my little corner of the internet, which I humbly call my Shed.

From here I share my views on anything and everything, hence the title of this blog - View From My Shed.

So feel free to pull up a chair and read my ramblings... And if you like it feel free to come back and visit. Alternatively you could reserve a crate by selecting follow...

As I look round the garden it needs a fair bit of work, as does my shed to be honest. It's very much like this blog - a work in progress...

So bear with for a while, until the 'heavy lifting' is complete and my blog is presented in all its glory.

Did you spot the Miranda reference? If not, well never mind - onwards and upwards.

Hopefully it will be worth the wait!

So what a weekend for sporting results! After many years of hurt we are finally repaying the Aussies at cricket. For those of you who argue for a closer contest, with twists and turns, I say to you enjoy the moment.

It's not often that we find ourselves in this position, so let's make the most of it. You know what goes around, comes around.

Now is the ideal time to hunt down that Aussie relative and strike up a convo about cricket (see what I did there?) You know you want to...

Our boss at work is from Australia and I look forward to hearing his take on the Ashes series so far. It's early days, but it has the feel of a very long summer for the tourists.

In Paris it was a great result for Chris Froome. After such a long wait, just like London Taxis, two come along at once. First there was the Modfather - Bradley Wiggins or should I say Sir Bradley, and now there is Chris.

Or will it be Sir Chris? Which reminds me of something else...

At Wimbledon I was really happy that Andy Murray ended the wait for a recent British winner of the mens singles. But calls for a Knighthood... really??? Maybe at the end of his career but now?

It sums up a number of things for me, firstly politicians jumping on the bandwagon of some success, and secondly building up someone, just so we can rip them down. It's sad, but it is the British way I'm afraid...

At least it will stop the media continuing to report on how many years of hurt have passed since it last happened. The counter has been reset and we start again.

As a colleague mentioned today at work, football is another matter. It doesn't appear to make a difference what gender or age, we are still poor.

If FIFA were handing out medals for consistency we would be world champions.

Well, on that note it's time to go. These jobs won't do themselves - thanks for stopping by....
